I know the weekend is almost over but I still wanted to give you some suggestions on what to read this week. So here are my top three suggestions.
1. Easter’s Lilly (The Easter’s Lilly Series Book 1)
This book I read when it first came out and I was bit by the mafia bug LOL. This is the first book in a series that I fell in love with at first read. I so could see this book being made into a movie. Here is a little bit about the book.
It was Easter Sunday; the day Lilly’s life went from safe and comfortable to dangerously unfamiliar. Her transformation takes her from a small town girl having an affair with a low ranked gangster in the Montiago crime syndicate, to a woman of grace and fortitude married to the head of the organization. Easter’s Lilly is an inspired journey from the idyllic to the darker side of self-discovery. Read as the over-privileged brothers embark on their journey that twists and turns down the road of unbridled passion in this first book of the series. I reviewed this book on my other blog Adventures of Frugal Mom and it was the first book that I am ever quoted in for the review I gave.
2. The Posse: A Crystal Cove Book
I absolutely love the writings of Tawdra Kandle. This story is not only about loss but also about the redeeming quality of love. Here is a brief description.
One woman, three men, and a beach romance as unpredictable as the riptide. . .Being a widow at the age of forty-four was never in Jude Hawthorne’s plans. After her husband’s death, she’s left with her family’s beach restaurant and two nearly grown children. The last thing she’s looking for is another chance at love. However, if her husband’s best friends, the Posse, have anything to say about it, love is just what she’s going to get. The Posse is determined to take care of Jude, and when they decide the best way to do that is for one of them to sweep her off her feet, three begin to vie for her affections. But only one can reach her heart. In a story of friendship, loss and second chances, Jude will learn her life is far from being over.
3. The Jefferson Key (with bonus short story The Devil’s Gold): A Novel (Cotton Malone Book 7)
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the author Steve Berry at our local television station. I was just going to review this book for them I didn’t know that I would be interviewing him on camera. His books are full of history and fiction. It is a great combination. Here is a little bit about his book.
Four presidents of the United States have been assassinated—in 1865, 1881, 1901, and 1963—each murder seemingly unrelated. But what if those presidents were all killed for the shocking same reason: a clause contained in the United States Constitution? This is the question faced by former Justice Department operative Cotton Malone. When President Danny Daniels is nearly killed in the heart of Manhattan, Malone risks his life to foil the murder—only to find himself at odds with the Commonwealth, a secret society of pirates first assembled during the American Revolution. Racing across the nation and taking to the high seas, Malone and Cassiopeia Vitt must break a secret cipher originally possessed by Thomas Jefferson, unravel a mystery concocted by Andrew Jackson, and unearth a document forged by the Founding Fathers themselves—one powerful enough to make the Commonwealth unstoppable.
Sounds good doesn’t it? Here is a bonus. A picture that my daughter snapped when I was interviewing him on television.
Yes that was back in the day when I had short hair. So tell me do you find any of these books interesting? Tell me what you are reading.
