Welcome back! Sometimes I post affiliate links, should you purchase any of the products I highlight by clicking through the links, you will be helping me to continue to create fantastic blog posts for you.

Greetings,

I’m so grateful for this guest post opportunity. It is such an exciting time since not only am I launching The Forgotten Dream (book 3 in the Obsidian Series), but I’m also launching Coloring Novels™. You may have guessed by now that I love coloring. Why do I love it so much?

This post seems like a great time to talk about that and some aspects of my motivation for launching Coloring Novels™. If you love to color, you may relate. If it’s not for you, perhaps you’ll understand a little more why some people enjoy it so much, and if you’re interested in giving it a try due to the huge popularity of coloring books for adults, this post may be insightful. These are just some quick thoughts that come to mind (and are based on my experiences and opinions).

Why I Love Coloring (and Some Benefits of Coloring):

  1. Coloring is an opportunity for creativity
  2. It is emotionally and mentally therapeutic
  3. I find it nostalgic (I have good memories of coloring on my own and with friends)
  4. It feels as if it physically releases tension
  5. The colors seem to make me feel more alive and they tap into emotions
  6. It is relaxing and my mind can wander
  7. Coloring has brought me joy and helped me heal during hard times
  8. It helps keep fine motor skills sharp
  9. I enjoy the emotions of connecting to the material – some examples are peacefulness coloring precious moments coloring books or fun/energy coloring Lisa Frank artworks

Coloring Books for Adults and Teens (Coloring Novels™):

The reasons above are reasons why I want to help push the movement further. As someone who is tremendously inspired by books and art, I love the idea of escaping into our favorite stories or even processing through thought-provoking books while having opportunities throughout the books to color and draw (or even write in blank spaces and in margin areas).

Can you relate to any of the reasons why I love coloring or do you have any to add if you were making the list? Has coloring meant a lot to you personally?
