A while back I reviewed the second book in The Finding Sanctuary series I loved the author Nancy Mehl so much that I decided to buy and review the first book in the series. Even though they are part of a series you don’t have to read them in order. At least, I didn’t- sometimes I can be a rebel like that.
Before I get into the review- here is a brief summary of the book.
Wynter Evans is a reporter for a television station, but her bright future doesn’t take away from the pain she felt over the disappearance of her brother nine years ago. So one day, she stumbles across a photo of a boy with a weird resemblance to him. So she decided to track him down. With research for work as her cover, she sets out for the place where the picture was taken. As the truth of family’s past hides in the shadows, it is clear that someone will stop at nothing to keep the answers she’s searching for hidden forever- even if it cost her, her life.
Sounds like a great book right? Well folks it was and it is. I loved all the twists and turns this book held. At one point I thought I had figured it out but then I found out how wrong I was. This book is as good as the second one and I can’t wait to read more from this series.
I love how the characters in this book can be anyone who you may meet in real life. I absolutely loved it and will recommend Gathering Shadows (Finding Sanctuary) to everyone I meet.
