Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy for the sole purpose for this review. However the fact that I could not seem to put this book this down is all my own.
Yesterday I let you read an excerpt from the book, Dead Money Run by J. Frank James, if you missed it you can read it here, today I am going to give you my take on this book.
First I will say that when I received this book, I was like okay I need something to read let me check this book out. I will say that I was a little surprised by my reaction to this book. I found that I could not put this book down it was that interesting. Sure there were a few places I admit that I skimmed over or skipped altogether but those were few and far between. And since I have had the attention span of a gnat lately for a book to be able to hold my attention for me to finish reading in less than two day is a huge plus in my book. I found that I could not put this book. Not only was it action packed it also came in a larger typeface which helped these old ailing eyes of mine. I also loved that the chapters were short so it made for great stopping points if I got interrupted reading it.
Although Lou, the main character is an ex con and this is a crime novel, I found myself actually liking his character. I don’t like what he did killing all those people but I did find some redeeming qualities in his character. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Yep folks it is a series so you know I will be reviewing this series in the near future. So if you are looking for a book full of action check out Dead Money Run (Lou Malloy Crime Series) (Volume 1) if you are anything like me you won’t be able to put the book down.

I love a book that I can learn to like a character I shouldn’t. Thanks for the review!

You know I like murder mysteries series and this does sound like good one! It does seem strange when you end up liking the bad guy somewhat–it has happened to me too!!

It’s good when you can find redeeming characteristics in places you might not generally be able to… A sure sign of great writing.

Looking forward to this one even more now!
