In the second book in the Ramtalan Trilogy, Argus Dachel, a far-from-ordinary half-alien teen, finds himself mixed up in the battle between a hostile faction of Invaders and the peaceful Ramtalans he’s come to know as his friends. With his brother Tai held captive at the Citadel and disturbing news about his father, Argus has to face the truth about who he is. Not only is the government agency, the Astronomical Urgent Recovery Administration, AURA, hot on his tail, but his relationship with his girlfriend, Lola, is in jeopardy. He risks exposure and capture as his special abilities increase and become stronger. When the enemy closes in, and the Citadel is attacked, victory seems impossible, but losing means certain death. He must find some way to protect everyone around him, but winning is impossible. Or is it?

My Review:
I loved this book. I love how even aliens can take on human qualities. It shows that you cannot always judge a book by its cover. I also love how it shows that the bonds of siblings cannot be broken, no matter the conditions. Initially, this book was a little slow, but it soon became a page-turner that I could not put down. I loved how Argus has to adjust to being a typical teenage boy when, in fact, he isn’t. His struggles are like those that any typical teenager can identify with. Just think about it: those will always want to wish you harm. It is all about how you deal with that adversity that makes you become the person you were meant to be. I enjoyed reading this book as I enjoyed the first in this series. I cannot wait to read the next installment because the end of the book does leave you wondering what will happen next. If you love science fiction, then this is the book for you, but even if you don’t like science fiction, you will be greatly impressed as I was with the awesome way this author weaves the story of two brothers who are alike yet different.
