I received a copy for the purpose of this review. All opinions are 100% mine.
It is no secret that I love to read. Because of that I can’t turn down books to review, that is why I started this blog just for the purpose and so that my other blogs wouldn’t be bogged down with book reviews. Yea sure I will occasionally do a book review here and there on my main blog but here it is all about the books.
Today, I am going to be talking to you about a book called Deadly Echoes by Nancy Mehl. It is the second part of the Finding Sanctuary Series. Even though I did not read the first book in this series, I wasn’t lost at all. I love this book. Sarah is a character that I could identify with in so many ways. As Sarah doesn’t feel like she measures up to her older sister, I too have felt that.
Here is a brief summary of the book.
After a youth filled with tragedy and upheaval, Sarah Miller’s life is finally settles with all echoes of the past silent at last. She happily calls Sanctuary her home and spends her day teaching at the local school. Sarah’s joy at her recent reunion with her sister, Hannah, and meeting the niece she didn’t know she had is too soon interrupted when Deputy Sheriff Paul Gleason informs Sarah her sister has been killed. As she learns more about Hannah’s death, the circumstances are eerily similar to their parents’ murder. Sarah enlists Paul’s help in digging deeper into the murders the police are dismissing as burglaries gone wrong. Paul’s concern encourages Sarah’s growing feelings for him, but as their investigation peels back the layers of lies almost twenty years old, they get close to uncovering the truth one person will do anything to hide even if that means coming after the last remaining members of the Miller family.
There are so many ways to look at this book. It is full of suspense at every turn. It also has a wonderful underlying message as well. The message is when we judge ourselves against someone else isn’t it saying that God didn’t do a good job in creating us? That really got me thinking. But even if you aren’t into Christian fiction this book would still grab your attention as I think there is at least one character in the book that people can identify with in some shape or form.
So if you are looking for a good suspense book that has awesome underlying message than check out Deadly Echoes.

My blog is filled with books and the occasional product review and giveaways–one blog is more then enough for me to handle! This does sound like an interesting book and I will put it on my TBR list.

This sounds like an interesting book. I’ve not read any new-to-me authors recently, so I’ll have to look for this one this weekend!

I do love a good suspense book, and I think I could relate to the main character as well. What little sister doesn’t feel like she can ever measure up to the bigger one?

I have a lot of blogs. My food one is my main one, then I started a diy/lifestyle/travel type blog. Then there is my writing site, which houses my book reviews. It is also my oldest. Going on about 8 years or so. I only put book reviews on the food site if its a good cookbook and/or I made a recipe out of it.
This sounds like an interesting book. I’d be interested in knowing more about her past so I will have to add this to my to-read list once I start clearing out some of the reads I have lined up.
