The 12 Joys of Christmas is an amazing book that gives a new take on the 12 days of Christmas. Before I get into my review here is a brief description of the book.

Long after the gifts are opened, the wrapping discarded, the toys forgetten, it is our memories of Christmas that remains. The 12 Joys of Christmas celebrates the timeless sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings of a holiday that brings families and friends together in a season of shared ideals, traditions, and lasting joys.

I will have to say that I loved this book. It not only teaches children about the importance of remembering family and friends during the holidays. But also it teaches them to count.

When I was reading this book, I couldn’t help but think about all the Christmas’ we had with my dad. It brought back memories of the jokes he would make every Christmas morning and how even at his last Christmas when he was in the hospice, he was still cutting up and cracking jokes. Saying that our dog, Allie, a 5-year-old Shih Tzu, was his favorite grandchild and he wanted to know what she got for Christmas.

What a great tool to teach children, the real importance of the Christmas season. It is not about presents it is about building memories with those we love.

This is one Christmas book that should be on everyone’s Christmas list this season.

Does this sound like a book for you, make sure you pick up on Amazon before the holiday season ends!
