Welcome back! Sometimes I post affiliate links, should you purchase any of the products I highlight by clicking through the links, you will be helping me to continue to create fantastic blog posts for you.

I love children’s stories that are based on real life. The Gift of Gift is just such a book.

the gift of gift

A tale of compassion, heroism and visionary thinking, “The Gift of Gift” features the three main Super Amazing Princess Heroes – Kinney, Oceana, and Sammie – who learn that one of their Ugandan friends, a wonderful girl named Gift, is sick with a heart condition. The girls spring into action and help build a heart hospital in Uganda. A gift not only becomes healthy but also receives another very special transformation, as she becomes a new Super Amazing Princess Hero with the power of healing.

I can actually say that I can identify with Gift and the other little girl in the story. Just like them, I have a heart defect. It is not something that I tell a lot of people about. But this story just connected with me. Fortunately, I have never had heart surgery and when I was little my dad was in the Marine Corps so most of my health care needs were met.

But there are some places that don’t have a hospital or even a doctor. Which brings to another reason why I liked this book. The story was based around a real life girl who through WCI was able to have surgery on her heart.

The Gift of Gift Inside Cover

Don’t know what WCI is? Well, read on.

World Children’s Initiative (“WCI”) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving and rebuilding the healthcare and educational infrastructure for children in developing areas both domestically and worldwide. WCI firmly believes that only through adequate health and educational initiatives will the bodies, minds and hearts of destitute children worldwide be properly nourished and prepared for successful and productive lives. WCI seeks to accomplish this goal through strategic partnerships with U.S. and foreign corporations, leading universities and academic institutions, and governmental and non-governmental entities who are operating to serve this population.

This is one children’s book that you most definitely want to buy for your child.

So grab The Gift of Gift here.

I received a complimentary copy for the purpose of this review. But all opinions stated are mine.
