This week’s book has a personal connection. You see it was written by my daughter, Gracie’s, 6th grade English teacher, who has now become my friend. I am currently rereading this book because it is the first anniversary of the book being published and for the author Sandy Brannan, becoming a first time published author. Just look at the summary of the book to see if it piques your interest.
As Ella nears the end of her life, she struggles to find peace. An old box of photographs, which has been hidden in her closet for years, takes her back in time to where her memories have held her hostage for so long. Remembering her daughter Catherine, although painful, turns out to be just what Ella needs.
Intriguing right? This book is my absolute favorite of her books. The other books, So Much Stays Hidden and Masquerade are awesome as well, but this one has a special place in my heart. I guess it is all about the mother-daughter relationship because I am a mom to three girls.
This book was so good, that I couldn’t put it down and I think I cried so much throughout. So you might want to have a box of tissues near you during the time you are reading it.
In honor of the 1st anniversary, the author has made the book free for Kindle. Hurry and grab this book before the price changes.
I profiled on Sandy in March in Women in Business Series on one of my other blogs Adventures of Frugal Mom.
Sandy was one of the first authors I had on my podcast Chats from the Blog Cabin, listen in as we chat about life, her writing process, and more and subscribe or leave a review. Here is the Youtube chat below.
